Vegetables are the essence of life. Life is grown and within life you live. This is very similar to vegetable gardening. Lately, vegetable gardening has become a huge necessity. People are searching for different ways to implement vegetable gardening into their lifestyles, in a way that suits them individually. Vegetable gardening can be very versatile. In this article, you will find various examples of the versatility of vegetable gardening.

For starters, there is absolutely a vegetable garden for everyone. Everyone has the ability to create a vegetable garden. There are four important choices (amongst many) to make when creating your vegetable garden. Will you garden in doors or outdoors? Are you spatially challenged? What will be your vessel? Will you be using aquaponics, hydroponics, aeroponics or traditional water, soil, and sunlight? That being said some veggies call for less sunlight than others, soil is not always necessary and your vessel can be anything from a pot to a bucket or anything in between. This allows for a little creativity. Easily create a garden in the kitchen, living room, backyard, bedroom etc.. The beauty of vegetable gardening comes from the love & care provided to the vegetable garden. The ease of vegetable gardening comes from the versatility of vegetable gardening. So make your choices and work your magic.

Are you ready to begin your very own vegetable garden? First, before you buy or rearrange anything, pick your space. Once you have done that apply the other choices you've made and start gardening.

Does the space get enough of the Sunlight? Depending on the vegetables you are growing your plants need approximately six or more hours of sunlight each day ( give or take a few hours depending on your veg ). Without sunlight, the plants can become stressed. However, keep in mind that some vegetables can grow with limited sunlight. Sunlight can also be replicated using specific lighting.

Will you remember to water your veggies? Vegetables require regular watering; otherwise they will not reach their full capacity. After all, we are growing these veggies to eat, so let us give them plenty of water in order to survive. Rain water ( though a great way to create a self sustaining vegetable garden ) is not always as reliable as one may think. If you live in an area that does not get much rain your vegetables will not get much water. You can install any number of watering systems ( which we will discuss in another article ), or schedule times when you will water your plants physically.

Lastly, do you have the right type of soil? The type of soil you use can be very important when it comes to the growth of your veggies. Although soil is not necessary as you can grow most vegetables with water alone using a specific technique called hydroponics. If you are sowing your seed in soil, it should be rich with organic matter and have the proper ph level for the vegetable you are growing. This sounds complicated but it’s as easy as it’s said.

If you are able to manage all three, then it is time to start your vegetable garden.

Vegetable gardening can take on many forms. Individuals with a green thumb will enjoy discovering clever ways to expand or improve their gardens. If you have a green thumb you will love the traditional style of growing. This could look like a big piece of land, with good soil, water, and plenty of sunlight. This could also look like a greenhouse or farm. If you have a knack for the professional stance, you can try aquaponics; which is a bio-integrated system that consists of an aquaculture sub-system and a hydroponic sub-system. It combines raising aquatic animals such as snails, fish, crayfish or prawns with cultivating plants in water. This is done in a symbiotic environment. The water then recirculates back to the aquaculture system. Basically you filter feed your precious veggies with the love droppings of fish. The outcome is delicious, satisfying veggies at full peak. If you really want to step out the box, begin your aqua research. No matter what, vegetable gardening will grow your life. Not only will you understand, love, and cherish the life that you grow, you will also get the opportunity to indulge and ingest that same energy.

For beginners, there are several adjustable garden options fit just for you. If you are not ready for a traditional garden, and possibly limited on space, Aeroponics gardening is an interesting choice. Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in an air or mist environment. Rather than using soil, this style of gardening relies on the consistent exposure to moisture. One benefit of this system is the low maintenance. Air acts as a medium to grow the plants, so less maintenance is needed. Ultimately, there is less stress involved with this style of gardening. If you have the taste for fresh grown fruit and veggies, but not the time, this system will work for you. There is also Hydroponics. It is very similar to Aeroponics, but not quite the same. With Hydroponics, instead of soil, the root system is supported using an inert medium such as Rockwool, clay pellets, or perlite. Basically, the plants get advanced nutrient solution while also receiving oxygen. This is a very important part of a plant's growth. One of the biggest advantages of utilizing the hydroponics system when growing vegetables is the rapid rate of growth. If the system is set up properly, you can expect your plants to mature by 25% or more. You will also notice that you produce up to 30% more veggies than those grown in soil. A traditional garden can cost less money, but will require more work. However, Aeroponics and hydroponics will be easier to manage but the start up cost can be more expensive depending on how you choose to build or create your garden. Even so, you get what you pay for. Both options are easy and perfectly manageable for your average beginner. The decision is solely up to you and what you can handle. With that being said, once you know what you want, you can get all the materials that you need (i.e. water, soil, pots, seeds, lighting or sunlight). Hopefully the experience is worth the journey.

Vegetable gardening is a great experience and can be very versatile. The amount of veggies and fruit you can grow from the comfort of your home is endless. If you start big or small, vegetable gardening will surely suit you in any situation. So, try something new with hydroponics, aeroponics, aquaponics or keep it simple with traditional vegetable gardening. The goal is to eventually have a vegetable garden you can rely on. Pick the style that works best for you in your situation and grow those veggies. Happy planting everyone!
